Pulp & Paper Industry
Production of pulp requires large amounts of woodchips as a raw material. AMECO’s fail-free Bulk Handling Systems manage woodchip storage piles in outdoor stockyards.
The pulp and paper industry compromises companies that produce pulp, paper, board and other cellulose-based products. The most important raw material for the manufacturing of all these products is wood.
Stackers and reclaimers
With the help of AMECO’s stacker/reclaimer systems, pulp and paper plants store woodchips in large volumes. This ensures that production can continue, even when supplies are intermittent.
Circular stockyards
AMECO offers both longitudinal and circular stockyard solutions. Our most successful product, however, is the circular stacker reclaimer. This type of stacker/reclaimer system can store large quantities of material, while taking up a minimal amount of space on site.
Example of installation of stacker reclaimer in pulp & paper industry
In late 2014, AMECO delivered such a circular stacker reclaimer to Siam Cellulose Co., Ltd’s pulp mill in Wangsala, Kanchanaburi province, Thailand. This is a remarkable piece of equipment, especially with regards to its size :
- The capacity of the woodchip stockpile is 150 000 m3, with a pile diameter of 120 m.
- The machine stacks woodchips at a rate of 300 TPH and recovers the material from the pile at a rate of 125 TPH.
These figures make the machine currently one of the largest over pile stacker-reclaimers in the world in terms of pile capacity.
